I warn you that this blog may not be suitable for guys.... :)

Isn't it amazing how much we change during the week of "partytime"?
Sidenote - For those of you not in the know, partytime refers to that time of the month, and it's a phrase that has been in usage since high school I believe and has now spread to many girls that I know and even their mothers and boyfriends! Partytime is the perfect word for it b/c a) it's nowhere NEAR being a party so it's just funny that we call it that and b) you can refer to things you might need during that time of the month as "party supplies" instead of calling them by their actual name, therefore when you are in public not letting the entire world know your personal business.
But back to what I was going to talk about - partytime. It's just amazing to me how much girls go through during that month. Amber and I were listing all of the symptoms that can/do occur and it's a lot that we have to dea
l with - cramps, bloating, mood swings including crying at anything, change in self esteem, stomach issues, tiredness, crankiness, and even clumsiness. I don't even know if I listed them all but yeah it's a lot. But the one that amazes me the most is just how much you can change in how you view yourself. One day you just wake up and think "oh my god, is that how my chin looks EVERY day?" and then after a few minutes of freaking out you realize that it's partytime and probably part of that reaction is just that you are hormonal and in a bad mood and bloated and yeah, it sucks!

That's insane! Men have it so easy! I guess we have it easy too in this day and age compared to back in the old days when people thought pms was imagined. At least now people recognize it as something real. But still, women have it rough!
And as I wrote this and screamed at my computer twice for deleting the picture that I was trying to add, I just say "watch out!".

Saturday was the day I was looking forward to and also dreading b/c we were headed to the Monterey Bay Aquarium which I've ALWAYS wanted to go to, but also the rest of the group was leaving that afternoon which was sad. The Aquarium was awesome and being the dork that I am, what would you guess my favorite part would be? The penguins? nope. The adorable otters? nope. The amazing jellyfish tank? nope. Nope, it was the barnacles. I mean they were just so crazy big and amazing to look at, I couldn't get enough. I told everyone about those barnacles and that they had to go see them, but no one was quite as amazed as me. :) I also really enjoyed the touch tanks and the kelp tank.
After the Aquarium, everyone had to leave. :( They left me in Monterey to fend for myself at the NERRS meeting and they drove back up to San Francisco to fly home. It was a great, great week!!!! :)
