Blackle

There's a new Google search engine home page that I want you all to change your home page to, or at least start using it as your search engine instead of Yahoo or Google. It's blackle.com
Using blackle saves energy because almost the entire screen is black. There is a significant difference in energy consumption between white and black screens on monitors. It's not going to "save the world" as stated on their website, but it might make you think about how you can conserve energy in other ways when you open and use it, while also saving a little bit of energy itself. On the home page it says that using Blackle.com has saved 804,724 watt hours already. Just an interesting concept to think about. Almost all websites you see are white backgrounds.
